SPRING TO SUMMER POEMS were written by fourth-graders in Mrs. Aulbach's class. Mrs. Aulbach e-mailed this message with the poems:
"After 38 years of teaching and sending in things to the Junior Dispatch, I am retiring at the end ofthis school year.
"I started the Jr. Dispatch journey a long time ago when I was in elementary school (we received silver dollars), and I have been so pleased that the newspaper has continued this wonderful tradition. The children and their families really love to see the articles and artwork, and so do other members of the community."
We hope Mrs. Aulbach enjoys her retirement!

POETRY by students in the multi-age junior class, taught by Valarie Fisher, Susan Chami and Heidi Pero.
Amanda Willigerod, 7, acrostic
Pandas are nice
And good, too.
Never
Doubt that pandas
Are not your friends.
Gus Corsaro, 9, haiku
Earth is our big home.
We are wrecking it and us.
This is all our fault.
Apples, ripe and red,
Apples, hanging on a tree.
Apples, falling off.
Lauren Kauffman, 8, clerihew
Smith, Hailey
Went to Bailey,
She asked if she could come over,
When she came, we played with the clover.
Kauffman, Kristin,
Was a Christian.
And went to church, then,
She said amen!
Magdelini Drivas 11, freestyle
This is our meadow,
A place of
Peace, beauty, nature, and silence.
The sparkling, shining, bright, sun
Shines down on us.
In the moonlight,
As I sit here in the darkness,
I am waiting for sleep to come,
To take me to my dream.
Away,
Into my own mind.
Mansi Patel, 9, haiku
Plants are nice to us.
We plant the seed in the ground.
We help the plant grow.
Rabbits run quickly.
Rabbits like to eat carrots.
Rabbits have white fur.
Ben Ostrander, 8, haiku
Global warming is
Bad for the environment.
We must stop it now!
Deforestation
Is happening right now on
A cold winter day.
Alexander Cannon, 9, haiku
Trees are in danger,
All because we cut them down.
Plant some trees today.
Animals are dead.
Stop killing animals now.
Or we will die now!
Autumn Smith, 11, acrostic
Spring is here,
Pools are open.
Rides are fun to ride when they are at amusement parks.
Ice cream is awesome,
Nothing is better than spring.
Good smelling flowers grow during spring.
Cheyenne Miller, 10, acrostics
Summer is coming soon.
Under the sea is fun on warm days.
Miracles are happening.
Meet new people at the park and pool.
"Enjoy your summer."
Run out of school.
Save and catch the ball.
Out of the park home run.
Field the ball.
Throw the ball.
Balls are always being used.
Always catching balls.
Learn every time you play.
Lots of fun.
