LESSONS LEARNED IN FIFTH GRADE! Alicia Overmiller asked her students to reflect on their fifth-grade experience, citing a "big idea" that they learned from this school year.

I have learned not to judge someone's personality by the way they look.
I have learned how to solve all of my problems on my own.
I learned that my last year in elementary school was also my best year!
I have learned not to judge a person by the way they look.
I learned that I love fifth grade! Also, I've learned that you should make a good first and last impression.
I have learned that you can always make new friends.
I have learned that keeping secrets is really hard!
In fifth grade, I have learned that you can have a friend, whoever you are.
I learned to make your last year in elementary school the best you can.
I have learned to learn from your mistakes.
I have learned to "shoot for the moon, because even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."
I learned that you always have to make a good first impression and last impression.
I learned to appreciate "brain breaks" because I never had them in school before.
One last thing I will take away from fifth grade are the discussions we had at our class meetings.
Something that I learned from my fifth-grade year is to make a good first impression and a good last one too.
I have learned that homework isn't needed to get good grades.
I have learned to choose your friends wisely.
I have learned from fifth grade to NEVER EVER believe rumors.
I learned to appreciate what your teacher and classmates do for you.
I have learned from fifth grade that it is super important to hand in papers and homework on time and it's important to be organized.
Something that I take from fifth grade is make a really good last impression on people; it really helps.
