Personal narratives
from Spring Grove
Spring Grove Area School District students in Lorie Warner's third-grade class at Spring Grove Elementary School wrote personal narratives. More of these stories can be found on page 3.

So there I was. It was the second half of the soccer game. It started. The forward passed to the other forward. He was two feet away from me, and he kicked the ball into my face.
The crowd went quiet. Then they went, "Ooooo!" all at once. I didn't care.
The ref came over and asked me, "Are you OK?" I said, "I'm OK." Then after a while ... my lip started to bleed!
The ref came over and said to get me off of the field and get something to clean me up with. So I went over to the sideline and the coach wiped me with a tissue.
Then I got back into the game and we won the game!

Have you ever wrestled? If you want to, go to the high school in Spring Grove, PA.
I got a shirt, singlet and candy. I started four years ago. I started for the Papertown Pinners.
During my first match I twisted my ankle and my mom, dad, and grandma came running out. My coach came running out too, with a bag of ice. I held it on for 45 minutes. Then it got better and I could wrestle again. I got a rematch. I ended up winning by a pin.
Wrestling is a rough sport. I hope you wrestle for the Papertown Pinners!

"It is time for art class," my teacher said.
When my class got to art class we got to our seats. The teacher said, "I got the fire prevention posters back and I will tell you the three people that won first, second and third place."
She said the third-place winner was Andrew, the second-place winner was Cecily, and when she said, "The first-place winner is..." I got butterflies in my stomach!
Then she said, "Katie Eichelberger!"
I was very surprised and happy. I haven't placed at all my whole life in school!
It was 11:10 and it was time to leave. We had to go back to our class.
I couldn't wait to tell my parents!
